Flowers may spring from ashes. At the end of 2021, the Marshall Fire exploded into the most destructive wildfire in Colorado’s history, destroying over 1000 homes and torching over 6000 acres. Now, a year and half later, the land is making a stunning - and surprising - recovery. Join Naturalist Dave Sutherland for an astonishing tour of Marshall Mesa to seek out the spring wildflowers that are coming back after the fire. Be prepared to hike 2.5 miles. Note: There are many mountain bikers sharing the trail so care is needed while hiking.

Where to meet: Meet at the Marshall Mesa Trailhead parking lot, located just east of the intersection of Highway 93 and Marshall Road at 5258 East Eldorado Springs Drive. A parking fee is required at the trailhead for vehicles not registered in Boulder County. Overflow parking (no fee required) is located at the gravel lot across the street. More info about the area is located here.
