When spring springs, thousands of water birds leave their southern homes for the breeding grounds of the north. Many stop over at Sawhill Ponds. Join naturalist Dave Sutherland for this early morning hike to spy on migrating ducks, geese and shorebirds. Birders of all abilities welcome but beginners are cherished. Bring gloves and binoculars or spotting scopes if you have them.

Where to meet: Meet at the Sawhill Ponds trailhead (Please don’t go to the adjacent Walden Ponds!) From 75th St, turn west on the dirt road at about 0.6 miles miles north of Valmont Rd and travel about 0.4 miles to the trailhead. Directions and more here.
