White Rocks Trail with Peter Ruprecht

Participants must follow CDC and State of Colorado and Boulder County Public Health guidelines on the COVID-19 pandemic. Participants must also follow individual field trip leader requirements, such as fully vaccinated status to register and/or wearing masks when in close proximity. And, PLEASE stay home if you are feeling unwell.

We'll start with a quick look at Teller Lake 5 and then walk north on the White Rocks Trail. This is an out and back walk on mostly flat terrain. Total walking distance will be about 3 miles. Habitats include ponds and marsh, open grassland/agricultural, and prairie riparian, so there will be opportunities to look for a variety of resident and migrating birds. There are no restroom facilities.

Where to meet: Meet at White Rocks/East Boulder Trail Trailhead. From 75th Street and Valmont Road, go east on Valmont 2.1 miles to parking lot on the right (south). From the east, the trailhead is just over 1/2 mile west of 95th Street. For directions and more click here.
