Walden Ponds offers a nice diversity of habitats, including wetlands and riparian, which can make for finding interesting fall migrants. We'll wander the trails along Cottonwood Marsh, Bass Pond, and Boulder Creek, as we look for numerous species of both dabbling and diving ducks, as well as various warblers, buntings, sparrows, and grosbeaks, while enjoying the cottonwoods and willows in their autumn plumage.
Where to meet: Walden Ponds is just west of 75th St. between Valmont Rd. and Jay Rd. At the Walden Ponds sign on 75th, turn west, follow the road as it curves to the south, and turn right into the Cottonwood Marsh parking lot. Meet at the pavillion, located just west of the parking lot.
