Walden Ponds with Carl Starace

NOTE: According to the Boulder County Parks and Open Space website for this area, Walden Ponds area trails have reopened, except for the trail on the south side of Duck Pond which abuts Sawhill Ponds, managed by the City of Boulder. Sawhill Ponds trails are still closed at this time.

NOTE: We ask that all field trip participants abide by BCAS Field Trip Etiquette.

Registration required. Limit 18, RSVP to trip leader to reserve your spot after 6:00 pm on Monday April 22. Early registration is not accepted.

Join local birder Carl Starace for a morning of birding at Walden Ponds Wildlife Habitat. Possible birds are Osprey, Bald Eagle, Killdeer, Lesser or Greater Yellowlegs, White Pelican, Tree Swallow, Say's Phoebe.

Where to meet: Meet at the Cottonwood Marsh trailhead at Walden Ponds Wildlife Habitat. Walden Ponds is just west of 75th St. between Valmont Rd. and Jay Rd. At the Walden Ponds sign on 75th St., turn west, follow the road as it curves to the south, and turn right into the Cottonwood Marsh parking lot. Maps and info about the area can be found here.
