Winter is raptor season, and Rock Creek Farm provides a great diversity thanks to a thriving prairie dog colony. We might see both species of eagles, 2-3 species of falcons, 2-3 species of hawks, great horned owls, northern harriers, and numerous species of waterfowl as well (tundra swans are seen here this time of year), as we enjoy a leisurely stroll and great views along Stearns Lake and the Rock Creek Trail.

Where to meet: Meet at the Stearns Lake trailhead parking lot, at Carolyn Holmberg Preserve at Rock Creek Farm, 2190 South 104th street, Broomfield, CO.
