As the full moon rises over the prairie, leafless cottonwood trees become black twisted shapes against the sky. This is the world of the great horned owl -- a powerful and mysterious nocturnal predator. Naturalist Dave Sutherland will lead you into the world of owls on this easy nighttime hike. Meet at Sawhill Ponds, approximately ½ mile north of Valmont Road just west of 75th Street . Dress warmly and bring gloves. Bring a flashlight just in case, but we won’t need them. Suitable for all ages!
