Open Space 101: Hike to a Flatiron!

Are you new to Boulder? Or just want to learn more about your Open Space land? Get a crash course in Open Space 101 with community naturalist Dave Sutherland. Enjoy an introduction to the area’s biology, geology and history while hiking up to touch the Second Flatiron. Learn about great places to hike and how you can help care for your Open Space! We will meet at a quiet neighborhood access point on a side street, the back way into the busy Chautauqua area with free weekend parking. This is a fairly strenuous hike. - 2.5 miles, 700’ elevation gain.

Participants must follow CDC and State of Colorado and Boulder County Public Health guidelines on the COVID-19 pandemic. Participants must also follow individual field trip leader requirements, such as fully vaccinated status to register and/or wearing masks when in close proximity. And, PLEASE stay home if you are feeling unwell.

Where to meet: Meeting location will be provided to registered participants.
