Join accomplished field biologist, Scott Severs, for a look into the amazing world of Odonata. The first class will focus on the identification of dragonflies and damselflies, where to find them, and their life histories. We will start by taking an easy stroll around the varied wetland habitats of the Walden/Sawhill Ponds complex.

The second class will focus on photographing these shimmering beauties, which sometimes can be tricky, but other times surprisingly easy. Scott, an excellent insect photographer, will show how to get great results for sharing with friends and family. Please bring any sort of digital camera to fully participate in this class.

This trip is part of the Interludes with Nature field trip series. These trips are led by the area’s most knowledgeable birders and naturalists who take participants to places they wouldn’t often get to see. Monies raised by this important fundraising tool send our Teen Naturalists to birding camps.
