The Boulder Philharmonic Orchestra recently performed Gossamer Depths, a new work by Boulder composer Leigha Amick, who was inspired by a Hubble telescope photo of the glorious Orion Nebula. Join the composer and naturalist Dave Sutherland on a reality-bending musical and scientific journey into the universe. Using a large telescope, we’ll loop back in time to watch stars dying and being born, spin with spiral galaxies at mind-numbing distances, and dance with the stardust that makes our lives possible. Plus, we'll sample a wide variety of classical music inspired by the stars and the night sky. This program is sponsored by Boulder County Audubon and the Boulder Philharmonic Orchestra.

Participants must follow CDC and State of Colorado and Boulder County Public Health guidelines on the COVID-19 pandemic. Participants must also follow individual field trip leader requirements, such as fully vaccinated status to register and/or wearing masks when in close proximity. And, PLEASE stay home if you are feeling unwell.

Where to meet: The location near Boulder will be provided when you register.
