The Goshawk Ridge trail winds through one of the most beautiful and pristine parts of Open Space. Its pine forests and lush, wet meadows are thick with wildflowers and a haven for wildlife. At this time of year, we may see more Pasque flowers than you ever imagined in one place! Explore this trail with naturalist Dave Sutherland. Due to sensitivity of the habitat, space is limited to 15. We will hike about 4 miles, with 700’ elevation gain. Since parking is very tight at the access point, everyone is encouraged to meet at the Park n Ride at Hwy 93 and Marshall Road, and we’ll carpool in the fewest vehicles possible.
Where and when to meet: Meet at 9 AM at the Eldorado Park and Ride (map) at the northeast corner of Hwy 93 and Marshall Road, to carpool to the access point. If you need to leave early and drive on your own, we will meet you about 9:20 at the gate at the Fowler Trailhead (map) at the top of County Road 67 (west on Eldorado Springs Drive from Hwy 93 about 2.3 miles, then south and up past the Yoga Ashram).
