Birds and Brew: Fall Trip to Sandstone Ranch and Collision Brewing

  • Sandstone Ranch 3001 Colorado 119 Longmont, CO, 80504 (map)

Limit 20, please RSVP on the Meetup page. If you’re not already a member of Meetup, you’ll need to join to get details and sign up for this event. Please cancel if you register and can’t make it, so someone on the waitlist can attend.

Please only sign up if you will be fully vaccinated at least two weeks before the event (CDC guidelines) and bring a mask.

Trip Leader: Carl Starace

Carl Starace will lead us again in this beautiful area in Longmont. Carl says we may see American Kestrel, Say's Phoebe, Northern Harrier, Belted Kingfisher, American Wigeon, Gadwall, Blue-winged Teal, Merlin, Wilson's Snipe, and Long-billed Dowitcher, among other species.

We'll bird for two hours then meet at Collision for drinks you pay for and appetizers provided by BCAS. Bring a mask, repellent, water, binoculars, and a spotting scope if you have one (always very much appreciated!). Extra binoculars will be available to borrow. All birding levels are welcome.

Where to meet: Meet at the Sandstone Ranch parking area at 3001 Colorado 119 in Longmont. To get there, turn south from 119 onto Sandstone Dr., go about 1/3 mile where you’ll see a pond on your right, and turn left on a road that ends in the parking area, which is a small lot just south of the soccer fields and east of the location on the map. The parking lot turnoff is before the visitor center and has restrooms. Collision Brewing is located near the Ranch at 1436 Skyway Dr.
