We'll park at South Mesa Trailhead (fee required if you are not a Boulder County resident) and hike approximately 3 miles on the Mesa, Homestead, and Towhee trails, in the hope of seeing all three species of bluebirds (Mountain, Eastern, and Western). Along the way, we may also find three other species of "blues" (Blue Jay, Scrub Jay, and Steller's Jay), as well as various other foothills songbirds and multiple species of falcons, hawks, and eagles. Exact route and duration will depend on the group and conditions, but we'll probably be out for 3 hours or so.
Where to meet: Meet at the South Mesa Trailhead parking lot. The entrance is located at 3633 Eldorado Springs Drive/CO 170, about 1.5 miles west of CO 93/S Foothills Hwy.
