Bird Watching and Bird Appreciation for Families, Kids and Youth

Enjoy a short talk on birdwatching for families and kids and youth in Lafayette followed by fun, hands-on activities that further open up the wonderful world of birds.  Activities will include bird ID games, an art activity, a fun activity on how to use binoculars, a live bird of prey and more!  

This program is part of Lafayette Open Space's years-long initiative called "Lafayette birds!" and of Lafayette's designation as Colorado's first "Bird City."  Co-sponsors include Boulder County Audubon Society, JAX Outdoor Gear, Nature’s Educators, Boulder County Nature Association, Environment for the Americas and “Nature Kids Lafayette.”  All attendees will receive a raffle ticket for a pair of binoculars from JAX!

No reservations are required for this event, but contact Martin Ogle at  Martin.Ogle@lafayetteco.gov with any questions. 

Boulder County Audubon will have a table at this event and is looking for volunteers to work with families and children on the BCAS-provided activities. Learn more.
