Per the CDC and State of Colorado and Boulder County Public Health, most public health orders are now lifted. Face coverings are no longer required for fully vaccinated individuals on our field trips. Those who are not fully vaccinated are required to wear a face covering. Those who are fully vaccinated may choose whether or not to wear a face covering.

What: Participate in identifying and counting butterflies in meadows and on hillsides.

                      *Identify each butterfly and learn of its natural history with experienced leaders.

                      *Record the species’ names and numbers of individuals sighted by your group.

Why:      This is the 38th year for Cal-Wood to contribute to the North American Butterfly Association’s annual survey.
We will explore the wonders of the butterflies that populate Cal-Wood’s multiple ecological niches. Even after the 2020 fire, we will again appreciate the beauty and richness that Cal-Wood offers.

The Buttonrock Group will meet at Button Rock Preserve, County Rd 80, Lyons.

How: The group will walk quietly to locate butterflies. Children are welcome when accompanied by adult.

How Much: $3.00 per person will be collected by the group leader. Pay an optional $7.00 for Annual Report from all counts,
